INS Sunayna crew rescues fishermen stranded in sea for 48 hours

INS Sunaina reached the fishermen stranded in FV Bewina
The Indian Navy displayed excellent coordination and rescued 11 fishermen who were stranded  in their boat for 48 hours in the sea near Kochi. The boat Fishing Vessel Bewina had run out of fuel. Not only this , while waiting for help, these fishermen ran out of food and water and lacked essential medicines.

According to an Indian Navy spokesperson, Dornier aircraft  on coastal surveillance relayed distress call from the Indian Fishing Vessel which was stranded  in western  area. As soon as the information was received, the Southern Command Headquarters of the Indian Navy dispatched INS Sunayna, deployed as part of the mission in the Arabian Sea.This incident happened on 17 February.

Indian Navy helped the fishermen by providing food items and fuel.

According to the Navy, the Indian Navy gave priority to humanitarian aid while coordinating brilliantly. The crew of INS Sunaina provided essential medicines along with food items to the distressed fishermen of FV Bewina ensuring  their safe return.
