Rashmi Shukla, a 1988 batch Maharashtra cadre officer of the Indian Police Service, has taken over as the chief of Sashastra Seema Bal. Till now the work of this post was being looked after by IPS Anish Dayal who is the Director General of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Anish Dayal handed over the charge of SSB to IPS Rashmi Shukla. Rashmi Shukla was Additional Director General (Headquarters) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Smt. Shukla did a marvellous job of coordinating between the states and the central agencies during the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai. Her work as the Commissioner of Police was also highly praised. As Police Commissioner Rashmi Shukla gave a new dimension to smart policing in Pune between 2016 and 2018. Campaigns and programs like City Safe, Police Kaka, Buddy Cop and Safety of working women were conducted there during her tenure.
Rashmi Shukla, a native of Uttar Pradesh, has done MA in Geography from Allahabad University. In the initial days of police career, IPS Rashmi Shukla was Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Akola and Sangli districts of Maharashtra. After this, she was Additional Superintendent of Police in Jalgaon and then SP in Nagpur. Rashmi Shukla has also handled the responsibility of law and order while holding the posts of DIG and IG in Mumbai.
IPS Rashmi Shukla was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2005 and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services in 2013.
