Surjeet Singh Deswal, an Indian Police Service officer of Haryana Cadre , took over as Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) succeeding Rajni Kant Mishra today in New Delhi.
As Superintendent of Police (SP) S.S.Deswal has served in several important districts of Haryana such as Rohtak, Bhiwani and Fatehabad. As Inspector General of Police he held the charge of vast and significant ranges like Ambala and Rohtak. IPS officer S.S. Deswal gave his exceptional services as Commissioner of Police of Gurugram for a period of almost four years. He led the Haryana Armed Police from for a period of approximately 11 months as Director General.
Haryana Cadre IPS officer S.S.Deswal joined Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on during central government deputation in the year 1994 and served there as Superintendent of Police till 1998. On his second Central deputation, he joined Sashastra Seema Bal in Dec, 2015 and served as Additional Director General ( ADG) till Oct, 2017. He was then transfered to Border Security Force where he was working as Special Director General.
Haryana IPS S S Deswal received the Police Medal in 2001 & Prestigious President Police Medal in 2012 for his dedicated services to the Nation.
