Proud moments for Indian Air Force: Runner Afsal wins the field

Junior Warrant Officer Mohammad Afsal and Sergeant Thomas Mathew, members of the athletic team of the Indian Air Force, have once again provided the Air Force with a moment of pride. They have won gold and bronze medals in 800 meters and 4 x 400 meters relay in the currently going on 38th National Games.

The Indian Air Force has congratulated and praised both these athletes and shared their photo on its official handle of social media X. The spokesperson of the Air Force has said in this post. “Well done, these are proud moments for the Indian Air Force.”

Meet runner Mohammad Afsal:
Mohammad Afsal, who has achieved athletic achievements since his school days, first came into everyone’s eyes when he won the gold medal in the first Asian School Track and Field Championship held in Malaysia in 2013. After this, Afsal made his mark as a runner with his speed in many competitions in the country and abroad. His performance in 200, 400 and 800 meters was commendable. He also won a gold medal in the 800 meter race during the 2022 Asian Games. Mohammad Afsal, who hails from Ottapalam in Palakkad, Kerala, was born on 3 February 1996. Afsal has studied from Parali High School.
