CISF jawan saves life of passenger by giving CPR at metro station

The alertness, sensitivity and wisdom of a Central Industrial Security Force personnel posted at the Metro Station in Delhi saved the life of a passenger. Everyone is praising this jawan  named Uttam Kumar. People are  also sharing the video in which Uttam Kumar is seen trying to save the life of the passenger by giving him CPR.

This incident happened last Saturday (4 November 2023) at Nangloi Metro staion. A passenger named  Anil Kumar (54 years),  after being searched, picked up his bag from the scanner and was going towards the entry point to catch the train. He suddenly turned and then fell unconscious. CISF jawan Uttam, standing at a short distance, was watching this. Uttam immediately came to help. As soon as he saw Anil Kumar’s expression and condition, he realized that he had fainted due to a heart attack.

Uttam Kumar made Anil Kumar lie down on the ground near the searching-frisking point  and immediately started pressing and releasing the chest with both his hands as part of the process for  giving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This effort of CISF jawan Uttam Kumar bore fruit and Anil Kumar regained consciousness. His heart started beating again which had stopped working a few seconds back. After this Anil Kumar was taken to a nearby hospital. His family was also informed and called. By doing the best work,

However, this is not the first case when a CISF jawan has saved the life of a person who had fallen due to a heart attack by giving CPR. Personnel of various such organizations like CISF, CRPF or Police etc. have saved the lives of people in this way. In the training given to the soldiers of these forces, methods of providing first aid like CPR are also taught. Many lives can be saved by giving CPR at the right time and in the right manner.
