Indian Police Service officer Vitul Kumar has been given the responsibility of the post of Director General of Central Reserve Police. Vitul Kumar has been given this responsibility after Aneesh Dayal Singh retired from the post of Director General of CRPF on 31 December. Vitul Kumar is currently on the post of Special Director General (Special DG) in CRPF.
An order has been issued by the Union Home Ministry regarding giving new responsibility in CRPF to Vitul Kumar, a 1993 batch officer of UP cadre of Indian Police Service.
The order issued by the Union Home Ministry, to give additional charge of CRPF Director General , to Vitul Kumar after the retirement of Anish Dayal states that he will hold the post till the appointment of a regular officer or till further orders. Vitul Kumar, a 1993 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is currently posted as Special Director General of CRPF.
The CRPF, with about 300,000 personnel, is India’s largest central police force. CRPF personnel are deployed in anti-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir, anti-terrorism operations in the North East and in States that are affected by Left Wing Violence.
