Now after the investigation was completed, it was recommended to demote him. It is said that Unnao police team took video evidence related to the incident. and when the Inspector General of Lucknow Range saw it, he recommended the stringent punishment for Kripa Shankar, who was a promotee Deputy SP.
Kripa Shankar Kanaujia was earlier posted as Circle Officer (CO) of Bighapur in Unnao district. In July 2021, citing some trouble in the family, he went on leave but did not go to his home.
Meanwhile, he had switched off both of his cellphones official as well as and personal. His family members were unable to contact him. In a way, he had gone ‘missing’. Troubled, his wife sought help from senior district officials. When the investigation was done, the last location of Kripa Shankar Kanaujia’s phone turned out to be a hotel in Kanpur.
When the police team reached the hotel, it was found that CO Kripa Shankar was staying there with a female constable. Both were found in the same room. After this, a departmental inquiry was started against them. Constable was suspended and the CO was demoted one rank and made an inspector.
Now that the investigation of Kripa Shankar’s case is complete, on the basis of the punishment recommended, he was demoted and made a constable, which was his original post. As a constable, Kripa Shankar has now been posted in the 26th Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) battalion in Gorakhpur.
