Tackling corruption at every level is the priority of the new DGP

Newly appointed Director General of Police Kailash Makwana has said that his priority will be to strictly curb corruption and restore discipline in the police. Mr Makwana, a 1988 batch Indian Police Service officer, after assuming the charge as DGP of Madhya Pradesh, said  , “Wherever I worked, I tried to eliminate corruption. This will be my view in the police department. Corruption will be dealt with strictly at all levels.”

IPS Kailash Makwana , while addressing media persons in Bhopal ,  said that corruption weakens the roots of the department and he wants the police department to stand firmly against this evil. He stressed the importance of discipline in the police force and said that preparation for Ujjain Simhastha is one of the biggest responsibilities of the police.

DGP Kailash Makwana said that to reduce deaths in road accidents, the police department will coordinate with other departments and discuss with them about road engineering. He advocated the use of technology to control cyber and other crimes. He said that policemen need to be given good training to deal with cyber fraudsters.

CCTV and other digital gadgets will be used more to curb the activities of goons and criminals.

The government had issued an order to hand over the command of Madhya Pradesh Police to IPS Kailash Makwana. Mr. Makwana has replaced IPS Sudhir Saxena, who retired from the post of DGP on November 30.
