Madhup Tiwari will be the new DGP of Chandigarh, Praveer Ranjan to go CISF

Madhup Tiwari , a 1995 batch Indian Police Service officer of AGMUT cadre , has been appointed the  Director General of Police, Chandigarh. He will replace Praveer Ranjan , a 1993 batch IPS officer. Shri Ranjan has been transferred as  Additional Director General in the Central Industrial Security Force  (CISF).

Apart from Chandigarh another Union Territory Andaman Nicobar will be also getting the new police leadership ,  as the present DGP of Andaman Nicobar Devesh Shrivastava has also been transferred to Delhi. Surender Kumar Yadav , an IPS of 1997 batch AGMUT cadre,  will  replace Devesh Shrivastava as DGP.

At present  Madhup Tiwari is posted as Special Commissioner ( Law & Order) in Delhi Police. He is expected to take charge of Chandigarh police in the coming week.

The Home Ministry has issued  orders for transfer and new appointment of the above mentioned IPS officers on Friday (9 February 2024).
