IPS Transfer: Shalini will be Puducherry DGP, Devesh returns to Delhi

After the order of the Union Home Ministry today on July 25, some senior officers of the AGMUT cadre of the Indian Police Service have been transferred, which will have an impact on the Delhi Police.

Posted as Special Commissioner in Delhi Police,   IPS Shalini Singh is now being sent as the police chief of the Union Territory of Puducherry. 1996 batch IPS officer Shalini Singh will now be the Director General (DGP) of UT Puducherry .

Shalini Singh is currently the Special Commissioner in charge of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police. She will take over the post of DGP of Puducherry on 1 August 2024, which is going to vacant due to the retirement of IPS B Srinivas. IPS B. Srinivas  is an IPS of Jammu and Kashmir cadre but now this cadre has merged with the AGMUT cadre. He was given the command of Puducherry Police in June 2023.

Transfer orders of IPS officers

Shalini Singh’s husband Anil Shukla ( is also an IPS officer of AGMUT cadre. He was transferred to Mizoram last year. Anil Shukla took over as DGP of Mizoram in July 2023. Currently Anil Shukla is the head of Mizoram Police.At the same time, 1995 batch officer of AGMUT cadre Devesh Chandra Srivastava (IPS Devesh Chandra Srivastava) is returning to Delhi. Devesh is currently posted as Director General of Police in Andaman and Nicobar. He will be Special Commissioner when posted in Delhi Police.

Another Special Commissioner Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal (IPS Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal) is being transferred from Delhi Police  to take charge of Andaman Nicobar police., He has been made the police chief of Andaman and Nicobar and will replace Devesh Srivastava. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal is a 1997 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre.
