Indian Police Service officer Suvashis Choudhary has won the Prime Minister’s Silver Cup Essay Competition for 2018, by coming first in the competition. The prestigious competition which is open to all serving police officers in India is conducted by National Police Academy, Hyderabad. The winner will be awarded the Cup at the passing-out parade of IPS trainees in Hyderabad.
The topic of his prize- winning essay was ‘A Case for Evidence-based Policing.’ Evidence-based policing is an emerging area in the field of law enforcement and is being widely researched and increasingly adopted for solving policing problems in many countries. It is being seen as a viable policing strategy for the future.
IPS Suvashis Choudhary is currently posted as Additional Commissioner of Police in Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police. Post-Graduate in Economics from Delhi School of Economics , Shri Choudhary has done MBA from FMS, Delhi.
