Indian Police Service officer Satish Golcha has been appointed Director General of Prisons, Delhi. Mr. Golcha will be in-charge of all the jails of Delhi including Tihar, till now IPS Sanjay Beniwal was discharging this important responsibility. After his retirement, Mr. Golcha has been posted on this post.
Presently posted as Special Commissioner (Intelligence) in Delhi Police, Mr. Golcha is a 1992 batch officer of AGMUT cadre of Indian Police Service.
Now the responsibility of the post of Special Police Commissioner (Intelligence), which Mr. Golcha was holding, has been given to IPS Sagarpreet Hooda, who is a 1997 batch IPS officer. Along with this, Mr. Hooda will also have the additional charge of Special Commissioner of Perception Management and Media Cell Division.
According to an order issued by the Home Department of Delhi Government on May 1, 2024, another IPS officer Tejinder Singh Luthra posted as Special Commissioner (Technology and Project Implementation Division) in Delhi Police, has also been given the charge of operations. It also includes a police control room and communication system.
