Senior Indian Police Service officer B Srinivasan (ips b srinivasan) has been made the head of the National Security Guard. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) of the Central Government on Tuesday approved the appointment of IPS officer B Srinivasan as the Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG).
B Srinivasan is a 1992 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Bihar cadre. A Personnel Ministry order said that Srinivasan will take over as the Director General of NSG from the date of assuming charge till August 31, 2027, i.e. the date of his retirement. This post fell vacant after IPS Nalin Prabhat was de-cadred and posted in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier this month, the ACC had reduced the tenure of Nalin Prabhat, who was posted as the Director General of NSG, and appointed him as Special Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police with immediate effect. Also, the order said that Nalin Prabhat will take over the role of the head of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Force after the retirement of RR Swain on September 30.
