Fortuner caught fire , ACP and gunman burnt alive in Punjab

A young assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Sandeep Singh of Punjab Police and his gunman Paramjot Singh died tragically in a horrific road accident. Both of them were burnt alive in the Fortuner car when their car collided with a Scorpio coming from the front. Gurpreet Singh, who was driving the car, was also badly injured. The accident happened around midnight on Friday on Dayalpura bypass in Samrala.

ACP Sandeep Singh (34 years), posted in a sub division in Ludhiana district, and his gunman Paramjot Singh (35) suffered serious burn injuries when their Fortuner car collided with a Scorpio coming from the front. Within some time the car caught fire. He was taken out of the vehicle and taken to the government hospital where he died. His driver Gurpreet Singh was also taken to the hospital and his condition is said to be stable.

Police said that the people traveling in the Scorpio have not been identified yet.

Sandeep Singh, posted as ACP Ludhiana East, was returning from Chandigarh.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Samrala said that Ludhiana-Chandigarh road is operational from one side because farmers have blocked the road on the other side. Farmers are sitting on strike protesting against the proposed biogas plant in their village.Khanna Superintendent of Police Saurav Jindal said that losing a young officer in a tragic accident was a big blow to the Punjab Police. He said that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections at Samrala police station and further investigation is being done.

ACP Sandeep Singh was a resident of Bathinda and had shifted to Chandigarh. His bereaved family consists of parents, wife and a toddler  son. Gunman Paramjot Singh was a resident of Firozpur and his family consists of parents, wife and five-year old son.
