While the news about the demise of Deputy Superintendent (DSP) of Punjab Police and national level swimmer Dilpreet Singh is a big shock for the family, it has also brought grief to the Punjab Police. Dilpreet Singh’s sudden death has surprised everyone. Fifty year old Dilpreet Singh, very healthy and fitness conscious, suffered a heart attack during a routine workout in the gym.
Dilpreet Singh was posted as DSP (Headquarters) in Malerkotla, Punjab and nowadays his duty was on the Khanauri border. On Thursday evening, Dilpreet Singh suffered a heart attack while he was exercising in the gym of a hotel located at Bhai Bala Chowk on Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana. DSP Dilpreet Singh was taken to the hospital but doctors declared him dead.
Dilpreet Singh was a national level swimmer and was recruited as an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in Punjab Police in 1992.
Director General of Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav has expressed his condolences by writing a post on social media platform X today. DGP Gaurav Yadav has posted : Yesterday, we lost our brave DSP Dilpreet Singh, who was on duty at Khanauri border of Sangrur. Dilpreet served Punjab Police and the people of Punjab for more than 31 years. We stand with his family in this hour of grief. Our condolences are with his family and close ones.
Dilpreet Singh was a resident of Ludhiana. Dilpireet has also been the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Ludhiana. These days his duty was at Khanauri border due to the farmers’ movement. After returning from duty, DSP Dilpreet Singh had gone to the gym for exercise.
