The Uttarakhand government has promoted 12 officers of the Indian Police Service after a meeting of the departmental promotion committee. 1995 batch IPS officer Deepam Seth has been promoted as the head of the police force. Shri Seth, who was appointed as the state’s DGP in November, has now been promoted to the DGP rank with the highest pay scale (apex scale 17).
After the retirement of Ashok Kumar from the post of Uttarakhand DGP, the Home Department had recalled IPS Deepam Seth from deputation and appointed him the DGP of the state. With the approval of the DPC, he has now been officially appointed to the permanent DGP post.
Apart from this, 1995 batch IPS officer PVK Prasad has also been promoted to the DGP rank. IPS officers Janmejaya Khanduri, Senthil Abudai Krishna Raj S, Dr. Sadanand Date, Sunil Meena and Yogendra Singh Rawat have been promoted from Deputy Inspector General of (DIG) to Inspector General of Police (IGP).
At the same time, other IPS officers Prahlad Meena, Preeti Priyadarshini and Yashwant Singh Chauhan have been given selection grade while Dhirendra Gujyal and Mukesh Kumar have been promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to the rank of DIG.
