Director General’s Commendation disc has been awarded to all the members of the Punjab Police team which played an important role in the arrest of Pradeep Kaler, one of conspirators of the years-old ‘sacrilege case’. Pradeep Kaler was absconding for many years. He had also been declared a fugitive. The shameful ‘sacrilege incident’ not only created various challenges for the then government, violence also took place due to which law and order was disturbed. Various incidents related to it made it more sensitive which further became a political issue in Punjab.
Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav praised and congratulated Faridkot district Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP, Faridkot) Harjeet Singh and his team members Inspector Harbans Singh, Sub Inspector Sukhjinder Pal, Assistant Sub Inspector Gurbachan Singh, Head Constable Randeep Singh and Constable Bhalwinder Singh for the successful arresting of Pradeep Kaler. DGP Yadav has posted about this on his official handle at the social media platform ‘X’. Yadav has said that in view of the good work done by the members of this team, a DG Commendation Disc (director general’s commendation disc) has been given.
The Director General of Police has written that the police team has arrested a fugitive , who was absconding for seven years, from Gurgaon (Gurugram), Haryana. This fugitive was wanted in the sacrilege cases that took place in Bargari and Burj Jawahar Singh Wala villages of Faridkot district. DGP Gaurav Yadav has also posted the picture of Pradeep being taken away after his arrest.
Pradeep Kaler is a resident of Haryana and is a disciple of Sirsa’s controversial Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and is also a member of the core committee related to the management of the Dera. There are many criminal cases against him. Recently, he was visible in some photographs taken during the Pran Pratistha program of Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, which were posted on social media. In these pictures, Pradeep Kaler is seen participating in the program in Ayodhya along with the ruling leaders and some other people.
