This is not the first case when people have suffered a heart attack while dancing or performing in an event.  In April this year, an 18-year-old girl fainted and died while dancing at her sister’s wedding in Meerut, also in western Uttar Pradesh, according to this NDTV report. A video shows Rimsha trying to perform dance steps to loud music with her family members but, seconds later, she is seen touching her chest and trying to hold the hand of a boy dancing next to her, and then faints.

A month later, a yoga event in Indore saw heartbreaking scenes when a retired soldier fell on stage while performing a passionate rendition of a patriotic song, clutching the Indian flag. Assuming the fall was part of the event, the audience continued to clap for over a minute, until one of the organisers realised something had gone terribly wrong.

In October last year, at least 10 people died of heart attacks at garba programs across Gujarat and the youngest among the victims was just 17 years old.
