Delhi Police Chief S N Shrivastava felicitated a group of students for their action shown during the initial days of COVID 19 pandemic crisis. The Police Commissioner appreciated the sensitivity and efforts of students which resulted in arranging and distribution of sanitizers, face masks etc for the capital’s policemen and other needy people.
Students belonging to Vasant Valley School, Sanskriti School and Step by Step School met the Commissioner of Police today in his chamber in Police Headquarters. Shri Shrivastava gave them letters of appreciation, Coffee Table Books on Delhi Police and the Delhi Police Mementos. Students namely Shounak Malhotra, Arhaan Mukherjee, Aayushi Khanna, Tanush Sawhney, Puranjay Chawla, Manomay Ghoshal, Pia Prasad and Darsh Prasad played an important role in this task.
According to Delhi Police , during the initial stages of the sudden total lockdown, there was a shortage of sanitizers, masks etc. for the extensive deployment of police personnel on the roads and pickets. During this unprecedented period, never seen before in our lifetimes, it demanded all public spirited persons to come out of their comfort zones and work for the good of common people, the needy and poor people being the first amongst them.
Instead of just sitting back at home, the fact that these children along with staff of Vigilance Unit of Police procured and distributed 2000 litres of hand sanitizer, 12000 masks and 8000 face shields by travelling extensively across the city, has really touched many hearts. The Police Commissioner spent time interacting with them.
