Shambhu Dayal, an Assistant Sub Inspector of Delhi Police, finally gave up his life. On Wednesday afternoon, he was admitted to BL Kapoor Hospital in injured condition where he breathed his last today. He was stabbed multiple times by a snatcher who had robbed the woman’s mobile phone and ran away. Shambhudayal caught him and was on the way to the police station. The name of the scoundrel is Anish Raj (24years) who stays in nearby jhuggi basti .
The last rites of ASI Shambhu Dayal, who sacrificed his life for his duty, performed in Gawli Biharipur village of Tehsil Neem Ka Thana in Rajasthan. Shambhudayal was a resident of Sikar.
This whole incident started on Wednesday when a woman named Vandana, a resident of Mayapuri in West Delhi, reached the Mayapuri police station at around 4 pm to seek help from the police. The woman told the police that a miscreant had snatched her mobile phone and also threatened her with a knife.
On the complaint of the woman, ASI Shambhudayal took her to the place where Anish was present. He lived in a slum. When ASI Shambhudayal caught Anish and started taking him to the police station, Anish suddenly took out a knife hidden inside his shirt and attacked Shambhu Dayal several times. He attacked Shambhu Dayal on the stomach, chest and neck. Even there were wounds on the back.
After attacking ASI Shumbhudayal Anish tried to run away from the spot but meanwhile more police personnel reached there. Anish was taken to the police station and the injured Shambhudayal was admitted to BL Kapoor Hospital near Karol Bagh. His treatment was going on there but unfortunately he could not be saved.
