Several school students visited the National Police Memorial , built in the Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi , to pay homage and interact with the brave officers of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who have been awarded medals for gallantry. Children listened to their tales of valour with rapt attention. Thereafter, CRPF remembered its fallen heroes and expressed its gratitude by honouring the courageous families of the gallant CRPF personnel.
This is in continuation of the series of programmes associated with Police Commemoration Day 2023, which are being organized by all the Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations at the National Police Memorial,from October 21 to October 31.The CRPF organized several events at the National Police Memorial today.
Both the school children and CRPF personnel’s families paid their heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice at the altar of duty. Later, they were taken for a tour of the National Police Memorial, which vividly depicts the sacrifices made by Police personnel including those of CRPF and were briefed about the significance. A short film portraying the glorious history of CRPF and the remarkable tales of valor and sacrifice by its courageous personnel was also exhibited.
The families of the Bravehearts of CRPF, who had served this Nation till their last breath, were special invitees for the occasion. Their presence filled the atmosphere with deep emotion as they paid their tributes to the fallen heroes at the Police Memorial.
Further, adding solemn pride to the occasion, Shaurya Chakra and Gallantry medal awardees of CRPF were felicitated at the Police Memorial. CRPF is the biggest central armed police force and holds the distinction of receiving the highest number of Gallantry awards this year. This feat, which includes 84 Gallantry awards, now contributes to a grand total of 2502 Gallantry awards bestowed upon CRPF till date.
Senior officers of CRPF laid wreaths and paid their homage at the National Police Memorial. The event was marked by spectacular displays by the CRPF bands which was followed by a harmonious retreat ceremony which filled the air with patriotic fervor.
