Colourful start of CRPF’s three days annual fair in Delhi

The three days welfare exhibition of CRPF Family Welfare Association (CWA) got off to a colourful start today at the SDG Ground in the Old JNU Camus, here in New Delhi. The Annual Fair was inaugurated by Ms. Aruni Doval wife of Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Doval described the welfare exhibition as a potential platform to showcase the creative diversity of the family members of the CRPF personnel. She also said that such programmes as this create a sense of communality and unity which is the essential strength behind any police force. Presiding over the inaugural meeting, Dr. Manu Bhatnagar, wife of Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar as well as President CWA said that the Association extends all possible support to the family of CRPF personnel who often stay away from their family in remote and difficult areas as part of their duties.

An illustrative book on the gallant deeds of Shaurya Chakra awardee Shaheed Hira Kumar Jha, 2-I/C who sacrificed his life fighting the naxalites in Bihar in 2014, was released on this occassion . Ms. Binu Jha, spouse of the martyr Hira Kumar Jha was also present . Sanidhya , the Annual Magazine of CWA was laso released on the inaugural day of fair.

The inaugural function also witnessed some cultural performances including a spectacular Sambalpuri folk dance by the students of CRPF Public School, Rohini. As many as 38 stalls are put up on the Mela ground. These stalls present a wide range of products including handicrafts items from across the country and are up for grabs by the visitors.

The Mela will remain open from 10 am to 9 pm before it comes to a close on the 4th of November.
