Women participated in Walkathon for Environment protection in Delhi

More than 150 women comprising wives of all ranks and files of Central Reserve Police Force enthusiastically participated in a 4 kilometers long walkathon from India gate to National Police Memorial today in New Delhi. Walkothan was organised by CRPF family Welfare Association (CWA) to celebrate its raising day.

According to a press release , in pursuance of the vision, aim, and objectives of Mission LIFE: Lifestyle for Environment, CWA celebrated its raising day by organizing this event.

Dr. Ajita Thaosen, the President of  CWA, flagged off the Walkathon in the presence . Dr. Ajita is the wife of Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen ( DG, CRPF). Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal IPS Rashmi Shukla and Smita Agrawal, the President of BWWA were also present at the event.

On the arrival of the walkathon at National Police Museum (NPM) , Dr Ajita paid homage to the brave heroes of the force who made supreme sacrifice at the altar of duty , by laying a wreath at the cenotaph.   While delivering the vote of thanks, Smt. Bharti Sharma, Honorary Secretary of CWA, thanked all the participants for making the event a grand success.

Walkathon is organised for  spreading awareness about the importance of conservation of environment and the indispensable role of each individual in its preservation and protection.  “Such events will surely mobilize and motivate people to turn themselves into “Pro-Planet People” as envisaged in “Mission LIFE: Lifestyle for Environment”, said the press release.
