Tributes for 20 soldiers martyred in Ladakh

Rich tributes were paid to 20 soldiers who laid down their lives in the worst face off with Chinese soldiers in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley on Monday night. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the brave sons have made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. “I salute them for their great sacrifice in their service to the Nation. I pay tributes to them with my heartfelt gratitude. In this difficult moment of grief, I express my condolences to the families of these Martyrs”, he said. He assured that the supreme sacrifice of these Martyrs will not go in vain. He further said that India has always tried to ensure that the differences never turned into a dispute.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed his deepest condolences to the Indian Army’s brave martyrs of Galwan. “The pain of losing our brave soldiers while protecting our motherland at Ladakh’s Galwan cannot be put in words. The Nation salutes our immortal heroes who sacrificed their lives to keep Indian territory safe and secure. Their bravery reflects India’s commitment towards her land,” he said. “I bow to the families, who have blessed the Indian Army with such great heroes. India will always remain indebted for their supreme sacrifice. The entire nation and the Modi government stands firmly with their families in this hour of grief. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” the Union Home Minister has said.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a tweet mourned the death of soldiers in the border clashes and said, “The loss of soldiers in Galwan is deeply disturbing and painful. Our soldiers displayed exemplary courage and valour in the line of duty and sacrificed their lives in the highest traditions of the Indian Army. Earlier in the morning, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh discussed the Ladakh Border situation with Chief of Defence Staff and Secretary Department of Military Affairs General Bipin Rawat, chiefs of three forces. Chief of Army Staff General M M Naravane, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal R K S Bhadauria gave their suggestions and feedback from their respective departments on the situation.

Chhattisgarh:

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid tributes to soldier Ganesh Ram Kunjam who hailed from Chhattisgarh. “Ganesh Ram Kunjam from Kanker district of Chhattisgarh was among these martyred soldiers. I bow to their martyrdom. We are proud of our brave and courageous soldiers and we stand united to protect the integrity of the nation,” said the press statement.

Punjab:

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh paid tributes to Nb Sub Mandip Singh & Satnam Singh & Sep Gurbinder Singh & Gurtej Singh who martyred their lives in Ladakh clash with China. He announced Ex-gratia grants and a job to next to kin will be given by State Govt.

Tamil Nadu:

TN Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has announced ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh to the family of the slain soldier K Palani who lost his life in the border skirmish between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Ladakh. Palani belonged to Ramanathapuram district. His family member willbe offered a government job.

Braveheart Colonel Santosh Babu’s daughter pays homage to her father

West Bengal: WB CM Mamata Banerjee has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh and a government job for kin of each of the two soldiers from her state who were killed in clashes with Chinese troops. Sepoy Rajesh Orang belonged to village Belgoria in Birbhum and Bipul Roy on General Duty belonged to  village Bindipara in Alipurduar.

Odisha:

Ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh will be given to each to the next of the kin of the two soldiers by Odisha government, who were killed during a standoff with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley, Ladakh on June 15.

Meanwhile Big B Amitabh Bachchan and Cricket captain Virat Kohli paid tributes to the brave soldiers in seperate tweets. .
