Junior Commissioned Officer Kuldeep Chand was a brave soldier of the 9 Punjab Regiment of the Indian Army. He and his team members encountered terrorist infiltrators on the LoC in Keri-Battal. Brave and valiant soldier Kuldeep Chand was a resident of Kohlvin village in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. He and his team did not allow the terrorists to cross the border.
Subedar Kuldeep Chand had returned to the border two months ago after spending time in his village. He has left behind his son, daughter, wife and elderly parents. As soon as the news of his death was received, there was mourning in Kuldeep Chand’s native village.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed condolences while praising Kuldeep Chand’s courage. Chief Minister Sukhu , on social media X said , “The news of the martyrdom of Kuldeep Kumar Ji, a resident of Kohlvi village of my constituency Nadaun, is extremely sad. His unforgettable contribution in the service of the country will always be remembered with respect. I pray to God to give a place to the departed soul in his lotus feet and provide patience and strength to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. My condolences are with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.”

The Army’s White Knight Corps has also shared the information about this sad incident through a post on X. The Corps said in its post, “The GoC of White Knight Corps and all ranks salute the supreme sacrifice of the brave Subedar Kuldeep Chand of 9 Punjab. He sacrificed his life while valiantly leading the anti-infiltration operation on the Line of Control in Keri- Battal area of Sunderbani on the night of 11 April 2025. The valor of his team and the supreme sacrifice of Subedar Kuldeep foiled the infiltration attempt by the terrorists. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.”
