Indian forces are also actively participating in the National Day celebrations of France. A Tri services contingent of all the three forces – Army, Navy and Air Force will take part in the march past in the parade to be held on this occasion. The Adjutant General of the Army, Lieutenant General C. Bansi Ponnappa met the troops and encouraged them for the upcoming momentous event, a day before the departure of this contingent.
France celebrates its National Day every year on 14th July. It is also called Bastille Day.
Not only the marching squad of Indian soldiers will participate in the national day celebrations of France, Rafale fighter jets will also register their presence during fly past. India has purchased Rafale fighters from the French company Dassault Aviation and France has so far supplied 36 Rafale to India.
It has also been 25 years of the strategic partnership between India and France which started on January 26, 1998 during President Chirac’s India vist. France has invited India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the guest of honor in the National Day celebrations.
It is believed that India will also sign some more agreements with France on this occasion. In addition to agreements of strategic importance, there can be bilateral agreements on climate change or any other area of mutual and global interest.
