An Indian Air Force Mig-29 aircraft crashed in Barmer, Rajasthan

An Indian Air Force fighter aircraft Mig 29  crashed on Monday night. But the pilot of the aircraft is safe. The accident occurred in Barmer district of  Rajasthan. The fighter plane was on a regular training flight.

Air Force officials said that an Indian Air Force’s Mig-29 aircraft crashed in Barmer late Monday . However, the pilot got out safely in time and there is no news of any other loss of life or property in the accident.

The Indian Air Force said in a post posted on its social media handle, “During a routine night training mission in Barmer sector, an IAF MiG-29 encountered a critical technical snag, forcing the pilot to eject. The pilot is safe and no loss of life or property was reported.” A Court of Inquiry has been ordered.”

The post further said that “Orders for a Court of Inquiry have been given.”

On receiving information about the MiG 29 crash, Barmer District Collector Nishant Jain and Superintendent of Police (SP) Narendra Singh Meena reached the spot along with other officials of the district. Mr. Meena said that the accident took place near Uttarlai Airbase in Barmer.Local people,  who witnessed the crash of the MiG 29 in Barmer,  said that the aircraft caught fire after a loud explosion. Fortunately  the pilot of the fighter jet had managed to take the aircraft to a deserted place before the accident.
