Former Air Force Chief RK Singh Bhadauria joins BJP

Former chief of the Indian Air Force R.K. Singh Bhadauria has now entered the political arena. Former Air Force officer Mr Bhadauria on Sunday joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party along with former MP and YSRCP leader Varaprasad Rao. It is believed that Mr. Bhadauria will be fielded for the electoral battle on the Uttar Pradesh seat in the Lok Sabha elections. This seat can also be Ghaziabad from where currently, former Army Chief General (retd) VK Singh is the MP. Since the name of General VK Singh has not been declared in the list of candidates till now, it is possible that BJP will change its candidate here this time. In such a situation, these possibilities have gained more strength due to the joining of former Air Force RKS Bhadauria in the party.

After joining BJP, former Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria said that after retirement in 2021, his new innings has given him an opportunity to contribute to nation building. Describing the last eight to ten years of his service as the “golden period”, he praised the steps taken by the Modi government to promote self-reliance and modernize the armed forces.

Sixty-four year old Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria is a resident of Korath, a village in Bah tehsil of Agra district of Uttar Pradesh. He was born in a Rajput family. His father, Suraj Pal Singh Bhadauria, also served as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Air Force and retired with the rank of Master Warrant Officer. Shri Bhadauria was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1980 and held the post of Chief of the Air Force from 2019 to 2021 and retired as Air Chief Marshal.
