CRPF sailors stood second in Sailing Championship

Despite having undergone very short training, the CRPF team exhibited great potential, intent and fortitude during all races in J/80 Class – CRPF National Sailing Championship held at Chennai recently. The Championship was organised by The Royal Madras Yacht Club, Chennai in collaboration with Central Reserve Police Force under the banner of Yachting association of India.

” CRPF team  secured second position in the regatta in the mixed category with a clear prospect of performing better in upcoming events,” said the CRPF spokesperson.

The Chennai Port witnessed a captivating and thrilling display of Regatta during this event which was   held between 18th to 20th of August 2023 at .

The championship was flagged-off on 18th August at Spring Heaven Wharf, Chennai Harbour Port Authority in the presence of General Officer Commanding of Dakshin Bharat Area Lt Gen Karanbir Singh Brar, Deputy Inspector General of CRPF Moses Dhinakaran ,  Indian Navy’s Rear Admiral Ravi Kr Dingra ,  Deputy Chairman of Chennai Port K Viswanathan and other officials.

Various teams participated in National Sailing Championship

According to a press release, a total of eight teams fiercely competed for glory in this 3-day championship. Apart from CRPF  Indian Army, Indian Navy, members of RMY Club  and other eminent clubs vied for victory in mixed as well as solo events. Each team participated in 8 races out of which best 7 were taken into account for results.
