Arunachal Pradesh is now the third North Eastern States to find its place in the map of Sainik Schools of India. Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the Sainik School , with first batch of 60 students , at Niglok in East Siang district. Mr Khandu said that state government is committed to transform this Sainik School as one of the best and ideal sainik school of the country.
Assam and Manipur already have Sainik Schools. After Sainik School, Niglok in East Siang district , Arunachal Pradesh is going to have two more sainik schools at Tawang and Tirap-Sanglong sector.
The School has begun its first academic session with 60 students selected from all over Arunachal Pradesh and other states of the India . CM Khandu while congratulating the first-batch students, appreciated the role of Goalpara Sainik School Principal, Captain Edwin Jothirajan, for his efforts to ensure early establishment of the school at Niglok.
Chief Minister, Pema Khandu expressed the gratitude of the people of Arunachal Pradesh to the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister for the setting up of the school in Arunachal Pradesh. General Officer Commanding of the Division at Likabali Major General Bhaskar Kalita , also the chairman of the Local Board of Administration (LBA) of the school appreciated the initiative of the State government for providing Sainik School which acts as a feeder to premier defence institutes like National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy.
Arunachal Pradesh Health Minister Alo Libang, Education Secretary Madhurani Teotia and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
