Defence, Police, paramilitary forces practice Yoga on International Yoga Day

The fourth International Yoga Day was celebrated throughout the country and across the globe on Thursday. The main function in India was held at Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi led thousands of people in performing yoga asanas at Forest Research Institute in Dehradun. Personnel from defence, paramilitary and police forces performed yoga which has emerged as the biggest unifying force in the world. In Leh, Indo Tibetan Border Police celebrated the day on the banks of Indus River while Indian Air force personnel posted at the highest airfield, Air Force Station , Thoise performed yoga with smile on their face under the extreme weather conditions. Indian Navy performed yoga was performed at high seas with Japanese Navy. In Rajasthan’s Kota disrict, Baba Ramdev and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje Scindia took part in yoga where two lakh people performed yoga with them.

In Delhi, Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik sent a special message on the occasion of International Yoga Day. In a tweet, he said, “Breathe in positivity and be an agent in nation-building ! #DelhiPolice wishes you a happy #InternationalDayofYoga2018 !personnel”. His colleagues and DCP level officers held yoga sessions in their respective districts.
