General Asim Munir
Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir and some other senior military officers may be banned from travelling to America and some other countries. The provision for imposing this ban has been mentioned in the ‘Pakistan Democracy Act’ to be presented in the US Congress (Parliament).

Joe Wilson, a Republican member,  has completed the proposal of this bill and has announced to bring it in the US Parliament.

Joe Wilson, while sharing the picture of this proposal on social media X, has written a post ( on 26 Feb)  in which he has mentioned about banning General Munir’s travel abroad.

Joe Wilson , in his post,  has also talked about reviewing these restrictions to extend them to other Generals of the Pakistan Army, government officers  and their family members. However, it is being considered a pressure tactic for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan who is  imprisoned in Pakistan.

The proposal has a time limit of 30 days to determine the ban. America considers the restoration of democracy in Pakistan as its responsibility. Joe Wilson says that the restoration of democracy in Pakistan is American policy.

US Congress member  Joe Wilson had announced last month to draft a bill requesting a ban on the Pakistan Army Chief, and now he has expressed ‘gratitude’ when it is ready.

Joe Wilson posted ,” Grateful to be nearly finished drafting the PAKISTAN DEMOCRACY ACT.”

The post further highlights about the bill which conveys three points :  The bill will – sets down that it is US policy to restore democracy in Pakistan , mandates a 30-day determination of sanctions on Asim Munir and reviews all generals & government  officials & their families for sanctions.
