Nine officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been awarded the “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for the year 2018. Out of them six are Deputy Superintendent rank officers whether three are inspectors.
According to a press release CBI officers selected by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in the first year of institution of this award are : Velladurai Navaraju, DSP Bangalore, Seema Pahuja DSP New Delhi, Roshan Lal Yadav DSP New Delhi, Ramavtar Yadav DSP New Delhi, Rajesh Kumar DSP New Delhi, K. Pradeep Kumar DSP New Delhi, Chandrakant Vithal Pujari Inspector Mumbai, Girish Kumar Pradhan Inspector Bhubaneswar and Raman Kumar Shukla Inspector New Delhi.
This award has been given to a total 101 Police Officers from across the country, including 09 from the Central Bureau of Investigation. Ministry of Home Affairs (Government of India) has initiated this scheme for award of medals to the members of Central Investigating Agencies and State/UT Police Investigating Agencies for excellence in investigation.
According to press release, objective for institution of the medals for Police investigators is to promote high professionalism standards of investigation of crime in the State Police and Central Investigating Agencies in the country and to recognise such excellence in investigation by investigating officers of the Police organisations.
