Following a decision of the Delhi High Court, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has announced a relaxation of three years in the age limit for recruitment to various posts. At the same time, the date of application for recruitment to these posts has also been extended from April 25 to May 2.

According to the information available in the official website of CRPF crpf.gov.in, after the decision of the Delhi High Court on 6 April 20 23, some amendments have been made in the advertisement which was published on 15 March 2023 for the recruitment of various posts. The High Court has given a one-time relaxation of 3 years in the age limit to the applicants for the posts of Constable (Technical / Tradesman), while giving verdict on various writ petitions filed by making CRPF a respondent.

It was earlier said in this advertisement that the age of the applicant applying for the post of driver should be 21 to 27 years i.e. the applicant should not have been born earlier than 2 August 1996 and not later than 1 August 2002. Now this limit has been increased to 30 years. That is, under this recruitment process of CRPF, the applicant wishing to be recruited as a constable driver must have been born between 2 August 1993 to 1 August 2002.

For recruitment to the posts of other tradesmen such as carpenter, cobbler, gardener, pipe band, barber, sweeper, mason, plumber, electrician, etc., earlier the age limit was fixed from 18 to 23 years, but now for recruitment to these posts a youth up to 26 years of age can also apply.

These applications can be made online and the CRPF portal will remain open till May 2, 2023 for this process of application. But the thing one has to keep in mind is that this relaxation of three years in the upper age limit for recruitment in CRPF will be applicable only for one time.
