Agnipath Scheme: Government extended entry age for 2022

The Defence Ministry has decided to change the upper age limit rule for recruitment under AGNIPATH scheme for this year only. According to the ministry’s statement , now aspirant who has attended the age of more than 21 years can also apply under the scheme for joining the Indian armed forces. This is one time waiver and the upper age limit for applicant has been set up as 23 years. This shall be applied to the recruitments during 2022.

According to the commencement of the AGNIPATH scheme, the entry age for all new recruits in the Armed Forces has been fixed as 17 ½ to 21 years of age.

” Cognizant of the fact that it has not been possible to undertake the recruitment during the last two years, the Government has decided that a one-time waiver shall be granted for the proposed recruitment cycle for 2022,” said a press release.
